Place Setter vs. Wedding Decorator

At The Burrow, We Don’t Just Set Décor. We Design the Experience.

When couples start planning a wedding, décor can sound simple. Pick the colors. Choose the flowers. Add candles. Set the tables. Put out the signs.

But beautiful weddings are rarely created by simply placing pretty things around a room.

At The Burrow Warehouse, we believe there is a big difference between having someone who sets décor and having a true wedding decorator. And that difference is one of the reasons our weddings don’t all look the same.

A place setter can follow a diagram, put centerpieces on tables, place candles, set out signs and arrange the items you have already selected.

A decorator looks at the entire room and asks a completely different question:

How do we want this wedding to feel?

That is where the magic begins. Our decorators think about what guests see the moment they walk through the door. They consider where the eye naturally travels, where a statement piece should be placed, which areas need height and which areas need to remain simple.

They understand how linens, candles, florals, furniture, props, greenery and architectural details work together. They know that every table doesn’t have to look exactly the same to feel cohesive.

They know when a centerpiece needs height, when candles should be clustered, when florals should spill naturally across a table and when adding one more thing would actually take away from the design.

They understand layering. And layering is what takes a wedding from decorated to designed.

The Burrow Is Part of the Design

One of the advantages of working with our decorators at the Burrow is that they already understand the building.

They know the exposed brick.

The tall ceilings.

The large windows.

The staircase.

The ceremony space.

The reception space.

The bars, lounges and unexpected corners that can become part of the wedding experience.

Instead of fighting the architecture, we design with it.

Sometimes that means a dramatic floral installation.

Sometimes it means greenery climbing an arbor or spilling from an existing structure. Sometimes it means creating height on a sweetheart table so it doesn’t disappear in a large room. And sometimes the right choice is leaving a beautiful section of brick almost completely untouched.

A good decorator knows when to add.

A great decorator also knows when to stop.

Color Changes More Than the Look of a Wedding

Couples often come to us with a color palette.

Green and white.

Black and champagne.

Blush and ivory.

Rust and terracotta.

But color is about more than making everything match. Different shades completely change the mood of a room.

A warm ivory creates a softer feeling than bright white. Deep green can feel romantic and moody while a lighter green feels fresh and organic. Candlelight can make the exact same room feel entirely different once the sun goes down. Our decorators think about those details when selecting and placing décor.

We want the florals, linens, candles, furniture and existing architecture to feel connected.

The goal is never for every item to be the same color.

The goal is for everything to look like it belongs together.

We Think Beyond the Centerpieces

Some of the most memorable parts of a wedding aren’t sitting in the middle of a guest table. They are the moments guests experience throughout the venue.

A dramatic ceremony installation.

A beautiful sweetheart table.

A staircase covered in florals or greenery.

An unexpected lounge area.

A statement cake display.

A candle-filled entrance.

A floral installation that becomes the backdrop for hundreds of photographs.

A forgotten corner transformed into something guests stop and notice.

Our team looks at the whole venue, not just the tables. We consider how one space leads into another and how the wedding changes throughout the evening. What guests see during the ceremony should flow naturally into cocktail hour.

Cocktail hour should lead into the reception.

The reception should feel different once the lights dim, the candles are glowing and the dance floor fills.

It should all feel like one story.

Most Importantly, Your Wedding Should Feel Like You

We never want couples to walk into The Burrow and feel like they are attending the same wedding that happened the weekend before.

Your wedding doesn’t need to follow a formula.

It doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s.

And it definitely doesn’t have to look like a Pinterest board simply recreated inside a venue.

Our goal is to take the things you love and turn them into an environment that feels personal to you.

Romantic.

Modern.

Organic.

Moody.

Colorful.

Minimal.

Unexpected.

Timeless.

Whatever your style is, our job is to help bring it to life.

Because when your guests leave, they probably won’t remember exactly how many candles were on each table or what shade of linen you selected.

They will remember how the room felt.

They’ll remember walking in and saying, “Wow.”

They’ll remember that it felt different.

They’ll remember that it felt like you.

And years later, when you look through your wedding photographs, we want you to remember that feeling too.

That’s Why The Burrow Includes More Than a Venue.

For couples who choose our inclusive wedding experiences, you aren’t simply getting access to a building and someone to put décor on tables.

You have a team helping create the atmosphere of your wedding.

A team that knows the venue.

A team that understands how the spaces photograph.

A team that knows where installations work, where décor makes the biggest impact and where your budget can be used most effectively. And because we already have an extensive collection of décor, vessels, arbors, furnishings and design elements available, our decorators can often create layers and moments without couples having to make purchases or additional rentals.

That is one of the things we love most about the way we do weddings at The Burrow Warehouse.

We don’t just find a place for your décor.

We create a place that feels completely yours.
